Case Study: Radiologists working remotely to read X-rays
Problem:
A hospital has a contract with radiologists working remotely to read X-rays and send them back to the hospital. X-ray files are big and cannot easily be spliced to fit into email attachments. Security and integrity of patient data was of utmost importance.
How FileTransfer.com Solved the Problem:
Before FileTransfer.com was an option, the hospital and their contracted radiologists reverted to archaic solutions for moving the X-rays amongst themselves. Security was critical. The X-ray files were simply too big to splice into multiple email attachments. On top of that, traditional email didn't offer the type of logging, encryption and overall security the hospital and doctors needed to be compliant. The hospital and doctors had no choice but to burn copies of the X-rays onto disks and physically send them back and forth using an overnight express delivery service. The overnight delivery of the disk cost $20 and took roughly 1 day each way. 2 days and $40 later, the X-rays had been read and returned by the contracted radiologists.
FileTransfer.com offered the solution the radiologists and hospitals were looking for. On top of being much more cost effective than physical express delivery services, FileTransfer.com was more secure and faster. Hospitals simply had to upload the X-rays to FileTransfer.com and file transfer the files to the contracted radiologists. The radiologists simply logged on to their FileTransfer.com accounts and downloaded the files. Once they had read the X-rays, they uploaded the X-ray reports to FileTransfer.com and file transferred them back to the hospitals. FileTransfer.com was more convenient than the previous solution. FileTransfer.com enabled the hospital to process the reading of X-rays in a fraction of the time at a fraction of the cost as their previous method.
